This month we would like to introduce you to Andrea. She is a total sweetheart. She has an incredible way of encouraging others and her timing is always perfect! Let’s no longer delay, here is her moment.
"Words are powerful, they help us say or write what is on our minds or in our hearts. I’m Andrea, and I have had a love affair with words and photographs since I was old enough to write and capture moments in pictures. I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a friend. I have a passion for scrapbooking and have a strong belief that the words we choose to say or believe can help or hurt us. The dialogue we may have with certain words can break us down or build us up. I strongly believe in the importance of growing stronger with words. Since 2017 I have followed Ali Edwards in a project called One Little Word. Each January I choose a word and carry it with me all year. One Little word to focus on, to live with, to investigate, to write about, to craft with, and to reflect upon as I go about my daily life.
I met Kathleen last fall at a church craft sale and was immediately drawn to her and her gorgeous jewelry. I just knew I had to work with her to craft a custom necklace to wear around my neck every day in 2020. This year I had several words that kept popping up. My past words were CHANGE, BEST, and DEDICATE. I was struggling to just pick one this year but decided that this project and these words were speaking to me for a reason. After some back and forth designing my custom necklace I decided on 3 charms…each had its own meaning that intertwined with the other words. BIG PICTURE my husband said was what I really needed in my life for 2020. I need to stop having tunnel vision and simply look at the Big Picture. The glass isn’t really half empty all the time. WHOLE was the word that also kept coming up for me. Whole living, whole foods and feeling Whole. After learning last summer that I had Hashimoto Thyroiditis and that a Gluten/Dairy/Sugar and Soy Free diet was needed to feel good and healthy I knew I had to move forward with a clean plate, literally. Only whole foods would help me to heal. And enter the last charm. It says 95. I know that to be happy and healthy I need to follow this lifestyle of eating clean 95% of the time.
Big Picture. Whole. 95. Yes, this year will be hard and I will faulter at times, but it will also be grand and bold and brave.
I know for years to come I will wear my OLW from Judda with pride. The words will change from year to year as I grow and learn and age, but that my friends are the beauty of life.
